Review: Organi Cleanser & Toner

Sweat, pollution, and wearing makeup are the reasons that our skin gets stressed and dirty every day. So, every girl has to clean and tone their faces to maintain the beauty of their skin.

I have mentioned before that I always skip the toning part because I think it’s not totally important on my regimen. Now that I found this 2-in-1 product, Organi Cleanser & Toner (P5,000+), this will help me not to skip using toner at night without putting another effort. Teehee!
Organi Cleanser & Toner

Organi Cleanser & Toner comes in a plastic bottle with net weight of 190 ml. It has gray cap, gold lettering, and transparent bottle. Its bottle showing the orange liquid adds plush factor of its packaging. While I think that it will look orange when I pour it, it is surprisingly almost clear.

The smell is like cinnamon or banana but not very prominent. The consistency is not runny and it does not bubble when applied on the skin.

Directions: Gently massage into skin of your face, adding a small amount of warm water. Either use fingertips or a soft face cloth. Rinse well with the appropriate Organi Day Cream or Night Cream which I will be posting soon!!

Will I recommend it? Yes!! It leaves my skin soft and supple. It actually makes my black heads disappear. It makes my skin and pores appear finer and smoother. Downside… it’s pricey.

Review: Origani Hydrating Milk Soap

So I was using an ordinary facial wash to cleanse my face not until I found the goat’s milk soap of Origani Hydrating Milk Soap. The guy who gave me this said that this is what he uses on his face because it really moisturizes his skin. He said that it does not upset the pH balance on our face. But to be honest, whatever he said, it’s the smell that made me to try this out.

Origani’s goat’s milk soap is formulated with pre moisturizers. The rectangular soap comes in soft edges. The packaging looks very classy with thick carton, silver letterings and navy blue bottom. Upon opening, the soap looks cute with a goat carved beautifully and the word Origani is also sculpted on the opposite side.

The smell is very pleasant. It smells like a milk but scented in a luxurious way. How I wish I could share its very promising smell.

As I try it out, its texture and effect when soaked in water is the same with ordinary soaps we know. The bubbles are the same and it does not melt easily.

Will I recommend it? Yes! While we think that using soap on our face makes our face really dry, it is surprising that Origani is true to its claim that it hydrates my skin very well. It cleansed my face and very moisturized and soft. However, since this one has no whitening formula, the color of my face and my body gets even. I only use this in the morning because I use Organi Cleanser & Toner at night.

Pardon the close up. See how moist it is.
no foundation or cream used.

no make up

Review: Organi Manuka Honey Peel

While I was having my field work in Glorietta Makati, I encountered Manuka Honey Peel in Organi stand now changing their name as Origani. I already noticed that there were sales people who were approaching mall strollers to try their products through demonstration. From the beginning that I saw them, I want to avoid that stand.
Organi Manuka Honey Peel

I asked the concierge of Glorietta if where is the place I am looking for and ended up that I should be passing to those sales people. Oh-oh. So I planned on just ignoring them but what happened next is totally the exact opposite. Maybe it’s because the demo guy asked me what I was using on my face and he stopped walking so I also stopped and talk to him. Or probably, he is a foreigner, not gwapo but with a charming face. Or, he got me when he said that I do visit facial but my blackheads are very visible.

So he demonstrated to me how Manuka Honey Peel works and because the product seems promising, I bought it. TBH, my face is really starting to get into trouble; probably because of stress, pollution, or what I eat, or the products I am using. It’s a good thing that Manuka Honey Peel is organic. It is still better to maintain the skin the natural way. See my troubled face below.

Manuka honey is not the ordinary honey. Manuka is a monofloral honey produced in Australia and New Zealand that came from tea tree. It is an “active” honey because it has antibacterial and antifungal properties. As a matter of fact, it can be used as natural wound dressing because it heals fast and prevent bacterial infections. For skin, it heals acne, repairs and hydrates skin.

Manuka Honey Peel’s box and the packaging look luxurious. Thinking that this costs Php 6,700, maybe I paid half of the price for the packaging. The tub is a transparent crystal-like with pear green color tub (or is that color lime green?).

Opening it, there’s a white hard plastic to avoid spilling the honey to the real cover. There’s also a spatula for sanitary purposes. And there… the Manuka Honey Peel is glistening in orange color with a floral scent similar to Sampaguita or Kalachuchi. I don’t really know.

The texture is pasty but not sticky. Also, Origani claimed that this product is non abrasive, so no worries there if you'll get hurt while exfoliating. I tried it to myself and to my mom so check it out!

Directions:

After cleansing your face, put a blob on your damp face, like dotting it.

Leave it for 10 to 15 seconds and then start massaging. See on the photo if what happens. Those are dead skin and dirt that’s been rubbed away. This peel is advised to use once a week.

Rinse well with warm water and advised to put Organi Day Cream after which I will be posting soon.

Will I recommend it? My mom has pigmentation.

I just don’t know if this will improve her skin or not. I will update if there would be changes to her condition. In my case, I can feel that my skin is clean plus the blackheads are not trapped forever in my nose area. Just wow! I can’t believe I don’t have to spend time going for facials anymore. I’m super loving it despite that the price is really eye dropping.

Review: No. 3 Nature Republic Wood Brow Liner

So, you know that I’ve been using retractable eye brow liner… but I found my former pencil eyebrow liner I was using when I was in college. That was like 7 years ago or more, ha! It’s a Shiseido brow liner that was given to me by my best friend a couple of years ago because her mother got home from Japan.

I totally like the shade of that Shiseido because it makes my brows perfect and not fake-looking (If you know what I mean). Given the fact that Shiseido is pretty not so pocket-friendly for a simple citizen like me (LOLS), I settled to get a same shade from Nature Republic where I also tried there retractable brow liner before. See my blog here.

The SA handed me a No.3 Wood Eye Brow (P155). The retractable brow liner I had before is also No. 3. However, I like the Wood Eye Brow than the retractable. Yes, pencil may make you feel hassle doing all the sharpening but I am more satisfied with the color of the pencil.

The Wood Eye Brow also comes with a spoolie on the other end. The cap is sometimes falling off if they are interchanged with the spoolie’s cap and brow’s cap so be careful.

Would I recommend it? Yes! It’s the shade that I really want to wear and one good thing about Wood Eye Brow l is that if you accidentally fell it, the pencil won’t break comparing to retractable that is very delicate.

Review: Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub

I’ve been planning ever since to add body scrub in my skin care since I really do not have much the luxury to go to spa. I’d rather sleep in my Sundays and hang out with my favorite people in my Saturdays. After a long while since I joined Blogapalooza, I was very delighted that Asian Secrets are giving away 1 tub of 250 ml for each bloggers. I do believe in Law of Attraction. :D Plus, I get to take a picture with Miss Esplanade.

"Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub is a beauty treatment which originated from the royal palaces of Java, Indonesia and inspired by the ritual called Lulur. Lulur was originally intended for the bride-to-be in order to beautify, smoothen, whiten her skin before the wedding day.

Asian Secrets Lulur is available in 3 variants - Green Tea & Vit.E, Licorice & Mulberry, and Seaweed & Vit. E. I got the Seaweed & Vitamin E variant which smells pretty refreshing and invigorating.

It is thick, creamy and so white that the beads are unnoticeable.

However, you can see and feel it when you start rubbing it in to your skin.

Ingredients: Aqua, Polyethylene, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, Seaweed Extract, Lanolin Anhydrous, Mineral Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Hydroxide, Squalane, Olea Europaea oil, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Lactate, Carbomer, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Price: (P100+)

Direction: Scrub all over your skin especially the dark areas while it is dry to remove impurities, dead skin and dirt. Rinse with water.

The beads are not that abrasive to the skin so it’s okay to put pressure while applying it. There’s no spatula or whatever kind of scoop, therefore I only use my hands to get some scrub.

Will I recommend it? I use this scrub every Sunday (hell it’s the only time I have to pamper myself) and what I like about it is that it gives me soft and smooth skin after using it. I could tell that I got a skin lighter but very little change. I’ve been using it since December and I am totally satisfied.

Disclosure of Material Connection: This is from a Blogapalooza event. I received a token from Asian Secrets in the hope that I would mention their product in Jammy Jam Spread. Regardless, I only recommend products that I believe will be good for my readers.

Roman Romulo: Bringing the Filipino Youth Closer to Getting their College Diploma

"Education shall be the comparative advantage of our youth so that they can have a better future." According to Congressman Roman T. Romulo who is also running for a senatorial seat this elections.

But who is Cong. Roman T. Romulo?

To those that reside in Pasig, he is commonly known as their beloved Congressman that was able to grant access to a lot of progress for their city. To the Filipino youth seeking a chance, he is the author of UNIFast and Iskolar ng Bayan Law that gives free education to those that would like to obtain their college degree. And to the common Filipino he is the husband of former Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad-Romulo.

But beyond these, there is more to know about Roman Romulo that voters need to know as well.

Roman Romulo was also the Chairman of the Committee on Higher and Technical Education of the House of Representatives. And for the three years he was the Chairman, Roman Romulo was able to provide relevant and meaningful reforms in the tertiary education.

Roman Romulo was able to pass laws that paved the way to more scholarships and access to better quality education with Iskolar ng Bayan and UNIFast Law.

Iskolar ng Bayan would be able to send the top 10 students from public high schools to the state university with their tuition fees and other fees needed by the student.

Unifast Law is just a new law that was signed last October 2015 that gives a better chance for students to be granted student loans and the only requirement is if they are unable to be sent to college by their family.

Roman Romulo was able have committee hearings to investigate on the impact of K-12, the rehabilitation of State Colleges and Universities that were hit by typhoon Yolanda and other calamities, the increase of plantilla positions for our faculty and the release of salary promotions for the faculty, among others.

And also the attendance to Board Meetings of SUCs to guarantee compliance with laws, CMOs on every project/ proposal especially those relating to students' rights and procurement for transparency and accountability.

There is really more to Roman Romulo that people do need to know this coming elections. As a strong believer that education is the key for one’s success, Roman Romulo is aiming to get more laws that is able to send more Filipino youth to college once he is in the senate.

MAT 12, Maybelline

Matte lipsticks are the trend today that's why I tried buying Mat 12 of Maybelline. It's shocking to know that Mat 12 runs out of stock every time I go to any beauty stores. Thanks that I got the perfect timing when I passed by in a mall where there's only three stocks left. The SA told me that it gets sold out in an instant.
MAT 12 Maybelline

To be honest, I really have dry lips so as I said again, that matte lipsticks do not fit me. Putting lip balm to your lips and then covering it with matte lipstick is not a good idea. To know more details about it, read further..

The lipstick comes in a crystal-like transparent tube where you could visibly see the color of the lipstick even without opening it while the grip is black and rubber-like. The brush is shaped a little different. It’s like tear-shaped which is just right to properly cover the lips.

The liquid has a creamy texture.

Price: P349 but I think I got it for P250

It has a scent but close to unscented so let’s not bother about that.

Let’s see how it goes well with my lips. So what I do is I moisturize my lips by using lip balm and let it stay for a long while. After that, I apply this matte lipstick so, it would not coagulate which is really annoying to look at, right?

Would I recommend it? Yes! It may not last long but at least, the color sort of stays to the lips even if it’s already erased. Using Mat 12 for long makes the crack of my lips visible but it’s tolerable (or maybe because it’s nude.) I haven’t tried other matte colors yet so for this Mat 12, I am totally recommending it.
