Jan 21, 2013 is the Depressing Day of the Year

Today is already Tuesday, upon scrolling my Twitter account, I have read about this:

Whoah, okay I know that it is usual to get emotional every Monday as I have read before that it has scientific explanation. Monday is derived from the day of the moon. It is a good day to relate to emotions and feminine issues. It is getting aware of moods and getting in touch with feelings.

However, I didn't know that Blue Monday ever existed since 2005. It is declared by Arnall, a UK psychologist which also has explanations. According to him, the most depressing day falls every 3rd Monday of January. Why? It is in this day

1. we experience bad weather
2. dues coming from Christmas buys
3. New Year's resolution fails

But, his formula for this are being questioned, or as we quote it is "nonsense".

As for me, I didn't know if it is just by coincidence but I found myself a little disappointed just before the sunrise as I have failed my goal, well regarding my business.

My higher officemate texted me awhile ago as she is sick again. She kid me that she is brokenhearted, but it is really because of the weather.

And that my other officemate texted me that he need to pay a debt. He didn't explained anything about that plus he is upset with his career status.

Well, moving on... Today is already Tuesday. Yet, I find it very amazing that I was hit by a Blue Monday 2013.

  1. It's Tuesday so it's a reason to smile. Luckily, I avoided the effect of blue Monday though I'm usually sluggish on Mondays since I have to wake up earlier due to my coding cutoff.

  5. It's ok to spend some time on the blue side as it can help you unload some minor emotions and bad luck/bad vibes too.

  6. I haven't heard of blue Monday before. I don't believe there's such thing. Maybe it's just coincidence that most people experience unfortunate events on this same day.

  7. Life is what we make out of it. If we think it is blue then it will be blue. The decision to make it blue is yours.

  10. I can't relate - both literally and figuratively :) I'm a huge advocate of positive thinking and positive choices, so I don't believe in 'sad days' at all :P

  12. If indeed there is a blue Monday, then there must be a Smiley Tuesday where all the bad riddance are thrown into the garbage can.

  14. I was in the hospital's ER for Blue Monday hahahaha. I guess I've been hit, too! Part of me also thinks of it as fortune telling. Something general is said and we find a way to apply it to ourselves, making you believe that it is real :) Either way it doesn't hurt! Hope the days get better for you!

  17. As I read about BLUE MONDAY from wiki; Blue Monday is a name given to a date in mid-to-late January stated, as part of a publicity campaign by Sky Travel, to be the most depressing day of the year. However, the whole concept is considered pseudoscience, with its formula derided by scientists as nonsense. Don't worry sis there is no connection to what is going on in our life now. No reliable facts to support it as they give meaning to BLUE MONDAY.

  18. oh so Blue Monday is just a marketing gimmick... hahaha... so there's really no reason to observe it... right?

  21. I didn't know that Blue Monday thing. It's purely nonsense, however, I'm into horoscope as all the predictions for Libra has come true. I'm not really that crazy into it but everything that was foretold came true.

  22. Is there really a scientific explanation for that? Haha. I believe that every day is a blessing, so why ruin your day by frowning? :)
