I saw some of my batch mates who actually had a lot of fun with running and I want to try it so, yet my circle of friends wasn’t really that have active life.
Until one day when Shiela invited me to jog around Quezon City Circle as it became her newest addiction and she has influenced me a lot to take a run during weekends. With too much of my eagerness, the weather contradicted our plan, always. Such a mood, weather! Our preparation for my very first run has always been cancelled which usually ended to mall stroll or to play in Time Zone.
The day of my first run – June 8, 2013. I really don’t think I’m ready even if it is just a 3k run. The event is held by Cesar Montano and look how many sponsors we got!
We actually got late even if we prepared early just because of the people we asked where the Rajah Sulayman is, people always mislead us. Argh! As we decided to take a cab, we claimed the singlet and unfortunately we ran out of stock. XS, S, M, or L - nothing at all. Good thing, Shiela had a pink top and I wore pink shorts that made us feel we still belong even if we had no pink singlet. They told us that they'll have the singlet be home delivered through LBC. Okaaay!
We heard the gun start yet we were still busy for our baggage and without any stretching or warm-up exercise, we ran immediately! Shiela ran just really fast but I was not that used to so I panted easily. So, the thought that this is easy, it wasn't. The last time I had this kind of feeling was when I play football for our PE class. Anyway, the first half of the run is exhausting but the second half felt like my body started to adapt with what I was doing. Sweat flows continuously to my nape and the warm feeling coming from my cheeks like I have been teased from my crush, I can sense I was having a natural blush.
No longer wished to beat the timer, I just stride coming to the finish line and my first run for me is a success!
After all the freebies we got, we decided to take some rest nearer the bay and had decided to walk from Rajah Sulayman to MOA. I guess that would be a 21k run or more!! We almost did it but we rode a multicab when we realized that it is still three blocks away. We should be in the Guinness Book, if we just try a little harder.
