Top 5 Loyalty Cards in the Philippines

Do you remember your first loyalty card? I do! It was a GenTxt (Are You One of Us?) loyalty card from Globe that offers all these amazing freebies from my favorite clothing brands back when I was still a teenager. I feel so thrilled whenever I use this, particularly when I think about all the savings I get from all my purchases.

Having a loyalty card is a way for companies to thank their regular customers through the form rewards.  In the Philippines, there are a lot of loyalty cards currently available. Drug stores, supermarkets, gas stations, shopping malls, and clothing brands, are among those that offer loyalty cards. Of all the existing loyalty cards, only a few stand out. Here’s the five of them:

SM Advantage Card
With 48 malls all over the country, there is no way this card will be left unused. SM Advantage Card can be used in purchasing not only in SM stores, (Department Stores, Appliances, Supermarket) but also in SM’s external partners such as Petron and Shell gasoline stations. The card allows a holder to accumulate points. and every point earned has a value of one peso which can be used to avail discounts and freebies from SM or from its partner establishments.

Suki Card
With more than 900 Mercury Drug establishments in the country, having a Suki Card is a must. I bet almost every family has one. This card is absolutely free, having no yearly fees; to get one, present receipts worth P1000.00. Much like the other cards, the Suki Card allows a holder to earn points (1 point for every P200.00 purchase) which can be used to avail of perks and special discounts for subsequent purchases. Customers can even use the points as cash credits. Who doesn’t want to take care of their health and get discounts at the same time?

Laking National Card
Established by the most widely known bookstore in the country, National Book Store, the Laking National card is another great addition in the list of must-have loyalty cards. With this card, a holder is entitled to discounts on books and non-book items on special occasions, email alerts for events and promotions, free wrapping on selected days, a premium item for every Php 1000 purchase, pre-sale & event privileges, and a lot more. You can get all these for purchasing a card worth only Php 100 (Php 60 for students with school ID) or you can get for free if you present receipts worth Php 5000 (accumulated within 12 months).

Bench Lifestyle Card
Brought by the popular Philippine clothing brand that has become internationally-known, Bench. This Lifestyle card is also accepted in Human, Kashieca, Fix, Dimensione, Charles & Keith, Celio, PCX, and The Face Shop. The great thing about this loyalty card is that it has no minimum purchase to earn points. So, whether your purchase is big or small, you will always be rewarded.

Petron Value Card
With free 24-hour towing and roadside assistance, personal accident insurance of Php 10,000 plus 1000 medical reimbursement, and discounts on selected products, what’s not to like about Petron Value Card? This card allows you to earn 1 point (equal to 1 peso) for every Php 250 fuel payment. The points earned can then be used to pay for products and services in participating Petron stations.

Having a loyalty card is one of great way to maximize the products and services of a certain company. This is why owning such cards won’t make you feel regretful and a wise method to save because most of the time, earned points are good as cash. Remember, we should spend our money prudently and even some people prefer to have financial advisor. However, most of the time we just do a research and becomes internet savvy to seek advice for particular services or products we want to have. With that, I learned that there is a site like iMoney that provides helpful information for people that has concern for their outgoings.
