Getting to Know Loafers

Loafers are also known as slip-on shoes or shoes that have no laces. I have previously written about Oxford shoes in one of my blogs. While Oxfords can be a bit dressier, loafers can be either casual or dressy. Loafers are low-heeled slip on shoes which is similar to moccasins. I would tackle moccasins in my next post.

There are different kinds of loafers and they are as follows:

Penny Loafers

Tassel Loafers

Whole Cut Loafers

Kilty Loafers

Gucci Horsebit Loafer

Pointed toe loafers could be worn for casual or business events, whereas square toe and round toe loafers like (boat shoes) are for casual days. Another helpful tip in wearing the appropriate shoes for events is that the shinier the shoe, the more formal it is. Tassel loafers, and the classic Gucci loafers are mostly worn for formal events and are also good when paired with business suits. Meanwhile, the penny loafers are casual. Sometimes, shoes made of suede material are considered casual shoes.
