My 2014 Highlights

Looking back, the year 2013 were filled with days of too much thinking, something that led me to discover my deeper emotions. I cannot keep myself from being immersed in my loneliness, because I felt like I’ve never improved.

On the contrary, my 2014 is an action-filled chapter. Yes, there are times that I still think too much, but I have learned that great experiences come from the things that weren’t well thought-out or planned. I realized that I should simply keep moving! Doers are almost always one step ahead of the thinkers. So, without further ado, here's a summary of my adventure-packed 2014!

*Our family had a new-found Canadian friend whom we toured around La Mesa Eco Park

*I bought my DSLR from Kimstore using my own savings.

*I met Vince Golangco of wheninmanila.com, and Faye of soshalnetwork.com, because we blogged about a newly opened restaurant in West Avenue, Quezon City named Coffee Empire.

*I met Monica Tobias, former DJ of RX 93.1, and now the owner of Sweet Ecstasy in Cubao Expo and in Jupiter Street.

*It was my first time to attend a blog event where there’s a featured celebrity. Sam Concepcion became the newest endorser of Chef’s Noodle restaurant.

*My friends Robin, Dionna, Rea, and I had an unplanned trip to Tagaytay during Araw ng Kagitingan.

*Some bloggers, including myself, were tricked into attending a fake event. It was a lesson for us bloggers. Thou shall not be complacent and easily trusting when it comes to receiving event invites. Research. Research. Research.

*I enrolled in a photography class that lasted for 12 hours.

*Thirty plus bloggers joined a Binondo tour courtesy of RJ Ledesma and Anton Diaz last May 3. It was also my first time to experience acupuncture!

*Through Sir RJ Ledesma, me and my co-bloggers went on a tour to discover the greatest food finds in Robinsons Magnolia last May 13.

*I spent my vacation in Boracay with my college friends. A lot of things happened there. You may refer to this link if you are interested.

*My high school friends planned to go to Puerto Galera. Punta del Este is such a good place to stay!

*I toured the Aussie friend of my high school friend in Intramuros. Yes, we were like couple, but I didn't care since I was paid as a tour guide. May talent fee ‘to, lol.

*G Toengi was one of the guests in the launching of Spirits of Sunshine Kitchen restaurant.

*Our college friend from USA surprised us, her girlfriends, by appearing like a mushroom in our meet-up place one afternoon.

*My college friends and I went to Ark Avilon Zoo in Pasig.

*My photo in Boracay was published in Manila Bulletin.

*I dyed my hair with a copper hue in Status Salon. First timer!

*I attended the BGC Food Tour last August 16. It was hosted by Chef JJ Yulo. The bloggers saw Erwan Heussaff for we visited his newest restaurant.

*Some bloggers, including myself, met Team Kramer in a Uratex event.

*It was my first time to have a beauty treatment made possible by a blog event. Thanks, Miss Dina!

*Jam of haveatyou.com and I won in an Open Snap contest of P 2,000 worth pf Sodexo GCs each!

* Some bloggers and I went to Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm. Lots of British people were there, including Georgina Wilson.

*I was hired as a receptionist in The Zen Institute.

*I visited the cemetery alone and stayed for 1 hour. My boredom led me to visit a relative's home as it is her birthday.

*I felt burned out from working.

*My workmate and I went to Paseo de Santa Rosa, and Nuvali, Laguna.

*Dad was hospitalized for 2 weeks. I was happy in the photo because he was transferred to a regular room from ICU.

* I received the queen-sized bed I won from a writing contest in a Uratex event I attended last September.

*I won a coffee-maker in our company's raffle draw.

*In our company Christmas party, our branch won as 1st-runner up in a dance contest.

*My family spent Christmas in Exchange Regency Residence Hotel.

*My high school balikbayan friend from Australia met up with me and our friends. We'll see her in the Philippines again after two years.

My 2014 is filled with many stories and it would be tedious if I make the timeline detailed. Nevertheless, behind these events, there are things that I know I did wrong yet I still did for I know I’d learn from them. Making mistakes while young is normal. Besides, who would want to be making mistakes for the first time while in their 40s?

I feel grateful that I was able to go to places with the help of my income from my online business only. I have felt the freedom that I’ve longed for and I can say that I have lived the life I have to the fullest this year. As you may have noticed, I got a job during the last quarter of the year as I have set higher goals. I have decided that I want to be tied up and be committed in devoting my talent as an employee again. Thank you, God, for keeping me blessed.

I was hungry for freedom last 2012 & 2013, so I filled that desire this 2014. Now, I want to achieve security and be a more responsible daughter for my parents. Thank you for that adventure, 2014. Hello, 2015! See you soon, my future goals!
