Review: L’occitane Gentle Toner

It’s been awhile since I used a toner for my face. Luckily, my BFF gave me L’occitane Gentle Toner 200 ml (P 1,050). Okay. I know that most people would find it difficult to pronounce this one, so to break the agony (lol) it is pronounced as LOX-EE-TAHN.
L'occitane Gentle Toner

Ingredients: water, centaurea cyanus flower water, glycerin, polysorbate 20, sodium PCA, shea butter extract, bitter orange flower extract, sodium coceth sulfate, polyaminopropyl biguanide, sodium benzoate, phenoxyethanol, potassium sorbate, caprylyl glycol, parfum, hexyl cinnamal, benzyl salicylate, geraniol

The bottle is transparent that comes in a spray which is very sturdy. I intentionally captured the toner bubbled because the liquid is basically clear, you might unnoticed it. What I do is I spray it on a cotton pad and wipe it gently on my face including the eye area. I like the smell; you can totally recognize the floral scent.

Would I recommend it? Yes. It leaves my skin fresh and clean, just like what the bottle says. I use it after washing my face and not as a makeup remover. Some buyers might actually get confused if this product is a makeup remover but just to be clear, toner is a CLEANSER. This toner is also alcohol-free. However, I’m just wondering if this one has shea butter extract which means fats, does it mean that this should have lots of alcohol just to make the liquid so clear and light densed? Lol. Okay, don’t mind it, let the chemist deal with it. :D

Disclaimer: Some products may not work for me, but can work well for others. This review is simply based on my experience.

  1. I don't normally use toners, should I decide to, I want something that's not to stingy, something that would feel soft on the skin. This sounds perfect!

  2. I used to think toners could be used as make up removers. I have a lot to learn. Thanks for clearing that up.

  3. Oh it has both sodium and potassium sorbate which I stay away from. Thanks for listing down the ingredients of this toner, it's the first thing I read in the labels of any product.

  4. Haven't tried any product from L'occitane because they are quite expensive. But I guess they really are great products that work well on any skin hopefully).

  5. Others underestimate the importance of a toner when in fact it's such an essential part for skincare. Glad you're able to find that works for you. I've been using Clinique for almost a decade now and it works great for me.

  7. I have heard about skin toner. I have no idea what it is all about. But this one it gives a clear idea what a toner like L'occitane could do. I know how a cleanser works.

  14. Just concerned about all those chemicals in the ingredients, but good that you mentioned that this was alcohol-free. I am not too keen on using too many chemicals on my face, being a plain soap and water guy.
